Provenance: Private collection from Eastern France.
Of Bulgarian origin, she settled in Switzerland, then in the United States, and finally in France (1926).
Until 1949, her style remained in the spirit of the New School of Paris. Subsequently, she contributed to the emergence of post-war French Abstraction. She was close to BAZAINE, BERTHOLLE, LE MOAL, MANESSIER.
From 1970 onwards, she developed a tendency towards monochrome: "her palette, once more complex, evolved towards large, simple harmonies, no less rich but almost monochrome...". Jean Bazaine.
